This is a list of family-friendly books or authors. With the exception of certain large groupings, I have read and enjoyed them all.
In a series--I have indicated the order in which I would read them.
The following designations are used for age groups:
Children = ages 0-7
Pre-Teen = ages 8-12
Teen = 13-19
Adult = 20 and above
All = Pre-Teen upwards
Click on the "label" for the appropriate age group to see related posts.
In some cases, the use of "Pre-Teen" or "Children" indicates stories you may like to read aloud; they may not necessarily denote stories the child would read to themselves.
Some posts are composites of other website data, to include Wikipedia.
Non-fiction: the story must be interesting, informative, and well told with facts which enhance my understanding of life or provide spiritual enhancement.
Fiction: a good story should make me think or provide pleasure--preferably both.
I have no interest in an author's "experiment with words". I am not into "shock factor" nor exploring the depravities of the human soul. I do not need extreme emotional conflict or senseless drivel. I have very little interest in characters who demonstrate no common sense.
